Dr Alexander Jacobsen is a general Cardiologist with specialist expertise in heart failure, syncope and rhythm management, including complex pacemakers.
After completing his medical training in Melbourne and Singapore, Dr Jacobsen obtained fellowships from the Royal Australian College of Physicians and the Baker Medical Research Institute. He has significant overseas experience, having spent four years as Lead Cardiologist at Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi, and eight years across various hospitals in the UK. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and a level 2 accredited member (cardiac pacing) of the European Heart Rhythm Association.
Recently, Dr Jacobsen consulted in hospitals across Launceston and Burnie, Tasmania, where he led post-graduate training programs in Cardiology. He has also delivered multiple presentations at international conferences and published his research in a number of medical journals.
